I looked at Ning.com under the category, "mashups." It is a social networking site. People can create their own social network for free (in seconds.) Some sites have 3,000 members. Other sites have one member, the creator. The categories are endless. Some sites are Z Bollywood, NFL Player Perspective, Artbook Coalition, and Firefighter Nation. It can be searched by subject. I tried "cows" and "Jane Austen" which lead to some interesting sites. Almost hard to see a difference between a blog and this. It might be useful for people doing research. Again, time is needed to search each site when doing a subject search. Sometimes what appears under the subject is not exactly what a searcher may have had in mind.
